Polaris Ranger Headlight Bulb Replacement and Aiming Guide
Dim or misaligned headlights can make it harder to see the trail, worksite, or road ahead. This guide covers general points to check when replacing bulbs and aiming the headlights on a Polaris Ranger. The access method and parts can vary by year, trim, and headlight assembly, so use the owner’s manual for your specific machine before beginning.
Check the headlight type before ordering bulbs
Ranger models do not all use the same headlight setup. Some have replaceable bulbs, while others use an integrated LED headlight assembly. The bulb type can also vary between model years and trims. Check the bulb or assembly information for your exact Ranger before buying a replacement.
The LEDPowersport® Polaris Ranger and RZR H13-style LED headlight kit is a two-bulb set for machines that use compatible H13-style bulbs. The product page offers several LED options. Confirm your model’s fitment and bulb type on the listing before ordering.
General bulb replacement checks
- Park the Ranger on a stable surface, turn off the ignition, and let the headlight area cool.
- Use the owner’s manual to find the correct access point for your headlight assembly. Some models are accessed from the front wheel-well area; others require access from beneath the hood.
- Before removing a bulb, note how its connector and retaining features are positioned. Disconnect the wiring carefully by the connector, not by pulling on the wires.
- Remove the old bulb using the method specified for that assembly. Avoid forcing a bulb or connector that does not release easily.
- Align the replacement bulb with the headlight opening and secure it in the correct position. A bulb that is not seated properly can affect the beam pattern.
- Reconnect the harness, reinstall any covers or panels, and test the headlights before driving.
Some Rangers use a sealed or integrated LED assembly rather than a replaceable bulb. In that case, a bulb-only kit will not be the correct replacement. Check the owner’s manual or ask a Polaris dealer to identify the required assembly.
Check headlight aim after installation
After replacing bulbs or working around the headlight assembly, check that the beams are aimed correctly. A level surface and a wall make it easier to see whether the headlights point evenly.
- Set tire pressure to the recommended levels and park the Ranger on level ground facing a wall.
- Use the distance and measurement procedure specified in the owner’s manual for your model.
- Mark the height of the headlight centers on the wall, then switch on the low beams.
- Compare the beam pattern with the manual’s aiming specifications. Adjust the headlight aim only at the designated adjusters and in the direction described for your machine.
- Recheck both headlights after adjustment and make sure the beams are even and secure.
Do not rely on a generic aiming measurement if your Ranger’s manual specifies a different distance or target. Properly seated bulbs and correctly aimed headlights help preserve the beam pattern for nighttime riding.

Frequently asked questions
Does every Polaris Ranger use an H13 headlight bulb?
No. Bulb types and headlight assemblies vary by year and trim. Confirm the bulb type for your exact Ranger before ordering.
Can I use an H13 bulb kit in a Ranger with integrated LED headlights?

Should I check headlight aim after replacing bulbs?
Yes. Check the beam pattern after installation and follow the aiming procedure and measurements in your Ranger’s owner’s manual.
