LEDPowersport® at the 2026 Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags
Share
The 2026 Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drag & Swap Meet wrapped up an incredible run of Minnesota snowmobile events for LEDPowersport®, and this was one we were especially glad to be part of.
Held September 18–19, 2026 at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds in Brainerd, Minnesota, the 24th Annual Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drag & Swap Meet brought together snowmobile racers, families, riders, vendors, swap meet sellers, vintage sled enthusiasts, and the local powersports community.
LEDPowersport® attended as a vendor with our snowmobile and powersports LED lighting products, displays, sleds, and snowmobile LED headlights. More importantly, we got the chance to spend the day with a snowmobile club and group of volunteers who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

LEDPowersport® at the 2026 Brainerd Grass Drags
After vending at the Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags and Hay Days 2026, Brainerd became the third major stop of our 2026 Minnesota grass drag run.
We brought the LEDPowersport® setup to the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds with our snowmobile and powersports lighting products, branded displays, snowmobiles, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to talk directly with riders about their machines.
Throughout the day we answered questions about snowmobile LED headlights, bulb fitment, AC and DC electrical systems, rectifiers, beam adjustment, and which LED setups work best for different sleds.
Those conversations are one of our favorite parts of attending these events. Snowmobile lighting isn't always as simple as matching a bulb number, and being able to talk directly with riders about the exact year, make, model, and electrical system of their sled gives us an opportunity to explain why the proper setup matters.

A Huge Thank You to the Brainerd Snodeos
One of the biggest things that stood out to us in Brainerd had nothing to do with racing or products.
It was the people.
We want to give a sincere thank you to the Brainerd Snodeos Snowmobile Club and everyone involved with putting the event together. From our experience as a vendor, everyone was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and genuinely happy to have us there.
Putting on a snowmobile event takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes, and it was easy to see that the people involved care about the future of both the event and snowmobiling in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
We came away from the weekend feeling like the club is putting real effort into building the Brainerd Grass Drags back up and growing the event. There was a sense that the people involved want to keep improving it, bring more riders and families through the gates, attract more vendors and industry involvement, and continue making it a destination for Minnesota snowmobilers.
We absolutely want to be part of that.

About the Brainerd Snodeos Snowmobile Club
The Brainerd Snodeos have been part of the Brainerd Lakes Area snowmobile community since 1975.
Today, the club has more than 125 members and maintains approximately 107 miles of groomed snowmobile trails throughout the Brainerd area.
That trail system reaches from Brainerd toward areas including Riverton, Crow Wing State Park, Harding, and Garrison.
Keeping those trails open and ready for winter requires much more than running a groomer after it snows. Club members volunteer throughout the year cutting and clearing brush, maintaining trails, installing signs, working on culverts and bridges, and preparing the trail system for another Minnesota snowmobile season.
The club currently operates large Tucker Sno-Cat groomers and puts hundreds of volunteer hours into the trail system every year.
That's an important part of what events like the Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags represent. They're not only about racing. They're also a way to bring the snowmobile community together and support the organizations doing the year-round work that keeps the sport going.
Learn more about the club, its trail system, events, and how to become involved at the official Brainerd Snodeos website.

What Happens at the Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags?
The Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drag & Swap Meet is a weekend built around snowmobiles and the powersports community.
The 2026 event included grass drag racing, a snowmobile swap meet, commercial vendors, an antique snowmobile show, food, and family-friendly activities at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.
Friday evening included test and tune, followed by the main event on Saturday. The swap meet opened early Saturday morning, with racing beginning later in the day.
One of the things that makes the Brainerd event interesting is the variety of sleds that can race.
The official 2026 race program included dozens of classes spanning:
- Vintage snowmobiles
- Classic snowmobiles
- Modern stock sleds
- Improved stock classes
- Pro Stock classes
- Modified sleds
- Retro classes
- Kids 120 snowmobiles
- Kitty Cat snowmobiles
- Open modified classes
That mix of old and new is a big part of the appeal. You can see vintage machines from decades ago and modern high-performance snowmobiles competing at the same event.

Snowmobile LED Headlights at the Brainerd Grass Drags
For LEDPowersport®, events like Brainerd are also an opportunity to talk about something we work with every day: snowmobile LED headlights.
Snowmobile electrical and headlight systems can vary dramatically between manufacturers, models, and years.
Some sleds operate their headlights on DC power. Others supply AC power directly to the headlight circuit and may require an AC-to-DC rectifier when converting to LED.
There are also differences in bulb orientation, available room inside the headlight housing, high and low beam operation, and how the LED emitters need to be positioned for a usable beam pattern.
That's why we look at the complete machine when helping riders choose an LED headlight setup.
Important considerations include:
- Snowmobile year, make, and model
- Factory bulb type
- AC versus DC headlight power
- Whether a rectifier is required
- Headlight housing design
- LED bulb orientation
- High and low beam operation
- Beam pattern and usable light output
Our main Snowmobile LED Headlights hub is built to help riders understand those differences and find the appropriate lighting setup for their sled.

Why Proper Snowmobile LED Fitment Matters
A connector physically fitting into a snowmobile does not always mean an LED is correct for the application.
The electrical system matters. Bulb orientation matters. Beam pattern matters.
Using an LED designed around the wrong electrical setup can cause flickering, poor performance, incorrect beam placement, or LED damage.
That is particularly important on snowmobiles using AC headlight power, where the proper rectifier may be necessary before operating an LED.
LEDPowersport® specializes specifically in powersports lighting, including snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs and motorcycles. Our goal is to match the lighting setup to the machine rather than treating every powersports application like a car or truck.
If you're preparing a sled for winter, start with your exact year, make, and model and visit our snowmobile LED headlight resources.
Giveaways and Meeting the Brainerd Snowmobile Community
We also brought some fun to Brainerd with a free LEDPowersport® raffle.
Our Brainerd giveaway included powersports and snowmobile gear along with LEDPowersport® products, giving people another reason to stop at the booth, enter, talk snowmobiles, and get to know our brand.
For us, these giveaways aren't only about handing out prizes. They're another way to create some excitement around snowmobiling, meet riders, and give something back to the people supporting these events.
Between Princeton, Hay Days, and Brainerd, we've been able to meet a huge range of riders in person during the 2026 grass drag season.

We Plan to Return to Brainerd in 2027
After our experience this year, we plan to return to the Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags in 2027.
We like the direction the club is taking the event, we enjoyed working with the people behind it, and we'd like to help bring even more attention to the weekend next year.
We're already discussing ways LEDPowersport® could make our next Brainerd appearance even bigger.
One idea we're considering is a major free snowmobile raffle or giveaway featuring a Polaris Indy Trail, with a winner selected at the event.
That giveaway is only an idea being explored at this point and is not yet an announced or confirmed promotion.
But if everything comes together, we'd love to do something that gives snowmobile riders another reason to come out, supports attendance at the event, and helps put even more attention on what the Brainerd Snodeos are building.
Watch LEDPowersport® and the Brainerd Snodeos for future information as plans for the next Grass Drags develop.
Why Local Snowmobile Clubs Matter
It's easy to ride a groomed snowmobile trail in January and never see the amount of work that happened months before the snow arrived.
Local snowmobile clubs are the people clearing trails, building bridges, installing culverts, putting up signs, maintaining equipment, working with landowners, grooming after storms, organizing events, and volunteering the time required to keep trail systems operating.
That's why we're glad to see clubs like the Brainerd Snodeos investing energy into events that bring the snowmobile community together.
A stronger local snowmobile event can help generate interest in the club, bring new people into the sport, create opportunities for local businesses and vendors, and introduce another generation of riders to snowmobiling.
We're excited to see where the Brainerd Grass Drags go from here.

From Princeton to Hay Days to Brainerd
The Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags completed a three-event run for LEDPowersport® during the 2026 Minnesota grass drag season.
- Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags – Princeton, Minnesota
- Hay Days 2026 – North Branch, Minnesota
- Brainerd Snodeos Grass Drags – Brainerd, Minnesota
Each event was different, but all three gave us the opportunity to meet snowmobile riders face-to-face and continue building LEDPowersport® within the snowmobile community.

Getting Your Snowmobile Ready for Winter
With grass drag season wrapping up, the next step is the one every Minnesota snowmobiler is waiting for: snow.
Before riding season arrives, now is a good time to inspect your snowmobile's lighting system and make sure you're ready for the first night ride.
Check that your high and low beams function correctly, inspect your headlight connections, and make sure any LED conversion is compatible with the sled's electrical system.
If you're still running weak factory halogens or an older LED setup, upgrading before winter means one less project when the trails finally open.
