LEDPowersport at Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags

LEDPowersport® at the 2026 Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags

The 2026 Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags & Swap Meet was our first major stop of the late-summer Minnesota snowmobile event season, and LEDPowersport® was there as a vendor with our powersports lighting products, snowmobile displays, and snowmobile LED headlights.

Held August 28–29, 2026 in Princeton, Minnesota, the 32nd Annual Outlaw Grass Drags & Swap Meet brought together snowmobile racers, trail riders, vintage sled enthusiasts, swappers, vendors, snowmobile clubs, and powersports businesses for two days centered around snowmobiling.

For us, it was also an opportunity to get out from behind the website, meet riders face-to-face, answer real snowmobile lighting and fitment questions, and let more people get to know the LEDPowersport® brand in person.

LEDPowersport® at the Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags

The Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags gave us a chance to bring LEDPowersport® directly into a crowd built around the same machines we work with every day.

Our booth featured LED lighting products, snowmobile applications, branded displays, sleds, and the black-and-green LEDPowersport® setup. Riders could stop in, check out our products, talk about their machines, and ask the types of fitment and electrical questions that aren't always answered by simply looking at a bulb number.

One thing we heard repeatedly throughout the event was riders asking whether we would also be at Hay Days. We were, and Princeton ended up being the first stop in what became a much larger 2026 Minnesota snowmobile grass drag and event run for LEDPowersport®.

That face-to-face interaction is important to us. LEDPowersport® focuses specifically on powersports lighting, and snowmobiles can have headlight and electrical configurations that make choosing the correct LED kit more involved than grabbing a generic automotive LED bulb.

What Are the Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags?

The Outlaw Grass Drags & Swap Meet are held in Princeton, Minnesota and have grown into a long-running Midwest snowmobile event featuring grass drag racing, a large snowmobile swap meet, commercial vendors, camping, food, and other snowmobile-focused activities.

The 2026 event marked the 32nd Annual Outlaw Grass Drags.

Racing ranges from vintage snowmobiles to high-performance and purpose-built outlaw sleds. According to the event organizers, some outlaw machines are capable of speeds exceeding 150 mph, making the racing one of the major attractions of the weekend.

The swap meet is another major part of the event. Rows of sleds, parts, accessories, gear, and snowmobile equipment give riders a chance to hunt for everything from vintage components and project sleds to newer parts and accessories.

Rum River Trail Association and the St. Francis Sno Ghosts

The Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags are hosted by the Rum River Trail Association, a nonprofit organization made up of four area snowmobile clubs:

  • Mystic Riders – Princeton
  • St. Francis Sno Ghosts
  • Grandy Northern Lites
  • Cambridge Drift Dusters

According to the Outlaw Grass Drags organization, money raised through the annual event helps support the development, maintenance, and safety of more than 500 miles of local snowmobile trails.

That makes the Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags about more than just racing. Events like this also help support the snowmobile clubs and volunteers who maintain trails, promote snowmobile safety, and help keep Minnesota snowmobiling moving forward.

We appreciate the work put in by the Rum River Trail Association, the St. Francis Sno Ghosts, and the other clubs and volunteers who make an event like the Outlaw Grass Drags possible.

Snowmobile LED Headlights Were a Natural Fit for Princeton

When you're surrounded by snowmobile riders, racers, builders, trail riders, and people getting sleds ready for another Minnesota winter, snowmobile LED headlights are naturally part of the conversation.

A headlight upgrade can look simple from the outside, but snowmobiles can vary considerably by year, model, electrical system, bulb type, and headlight housing.

Two sleds from the same manufacturer may require completely different LED headlight setups.

Some of the things we look at when helping riders select a snowmobile LED headlight setup include:

  • Snowmobile year, make, and model
  • Factory headlight and bulb configuration
  • AC versus DC electrical power
  • Whether an AC-to-DC rectifier is required
  • Available space inside the headlight housing
  • Bulb orientation and adjustment
  • High-beam and low-beam operation
  • Beam pattern and usable light output

This is exactly why we've continued expanding our dedicated snowmobile LED headlights resource.

Instead of treating every snowmobile like an automotive application, we focus on the actual machines riders are using and help match the lighting setup to the sled.

Why Snowmobile LED Headlight Fitment Matters

Snowmobile lighting can be very different from automotive lighting.

Some sleds supply AC power directly to the headlight circuit, while others use DC power. Certain machines require an AC-to-DC rectifier when converting to LED. Bulb orientation can also affect the beam pattern, and some headlight housings have limited space behind the bulb.

Installing the wrong LED setup can lead to poor light output, incorrect beam placement, flickering, electrical problems, or premature LED failure.

That is why LEDPowersport® recommends selecting snowmobile lighting based on the actual machine rather than simply buying a bulb because the connector appears to fit.

If you're researching an upgrade, start with our Snowmobile LED Headlights page and choose your setup based on your sled's year, make, model, and electrical requirements.

Built for Powersports, Not Just Adapted From Automotive Lighting

LEDPowersport® specializes in LED lighting for snowmobiles, ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and other powersports machines.

Events like the Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags allow riders to see our products in person and talk directly with us about real powersports applications.

Our focus isn't simply putting the highest possible lumen number on a package.

Proper snowmobile lighting depends on usable light output, electrical compatibility, bulb positioning, beam pattern, reliability, and selecting the correct setup for the machine.

That's also why we continue testing and developing lighting specifically around powersports applications instead of treating snowmobiles as an afterthought.

A Great Start to Our 2026 Grass Drag Season

Princeton gave us a great first look at what the 2026 snowmobile event season could do for LEDPowersport®.

We met riders, answered questions about snowmobile LED headlight upgrades, talked fitment and electrical systems, and introduced the brand to people who had never seen our products in person before.

It also reinforced why getting out to these events matters.

An online product page can provide specifications and fitment information, but standing next to a sled and talking directly with the person who rides it creates an entirely different experience.

From Princeton, our next major stop was Hay Days 2026 in North Branch, Minnesota, where we expanded into a much larger LEDPowersport® vendor setup and continued meeting snowmobile riders from across Minnesota and beyond.

LEDPowersport® 2026 Minnesota Grass Drag Tour

Princeton wasn't the end of our 2026 event season.

LEDPowersport® continued on to Hay Days and then the Brainerd Grass Drags, bringing our snowmobile and powersports LED lighting displays directly to riders throughout Minnesota.

We'll be putting together an individual Brainerd Grass Drags recap along with a complete LEDPowersport® 2026 Grass Drag Tour article covering all three major stops:

  • Princeton Outlaw Grass Drags
  • Hay Days 2026
  • Brainerd Grass Drags

That tour represents something important for our company.

LEDPowersport® isn't just an online listing for LED bulbs. We're involved in the powersports community, attending snowmobile events, talking with riders, working with the machines, answering technical questions, and continuing to improve the lighting options we offer.

Preparing Your Snowmobile for the 2026–2027 Riding Season

Grass drag season is also a reminder that winter isn't far behind.

Before the snow arrives, it's a good time to inspect your sled's headlights, verify that both high and low beam functions are operating correctly, check your electrical system, and address weak or outdated lighting before your first night ride.

If you're considering an LED upgrade, identifying the correct setup before installation is especially important.

Certain snowmobiles use AC headlight power and require the appropriate rectifier when converting to LED. Other machines operate differently depending on year, engine, trim, or headlight configuration.

That's why we recommend starting with your exact year, make, and model rather than assuming one LED bulb works across every snowmobile.
